Who is Anthony Robles’ father? All About Ron Robles!

Anthony Robles, the inspiring one-legged NCAA wrestling champion, grew up without the presence of his biological father, who left upon learning about Judy Robles’ pregnancy. Despite this, Anthony found a father figure in his mother’s husband, Ron Robles, though their relationship was complex and often difficult.

“Anthony Robles’ father was not part of his life, but he got a father figure when his mother, Judy, married his stepdad, Ron Robles,” explains the wrestler’s story. However, Anthony has revealed that Ron was often critical and sometimes harsh, and their bond was strained due to Ron’s disapproval of Anthony’s darker skin tone inherited from his biological father’s African-American roots.

Raised mainly by Judy, who was just 16 when Anthony was born, the wrestler credits her as his hero and primary support system. Judy balanced caring for Anthony and his siblings with her academic ambitions and later secured a stable career to provide for the family, despite significant hardships including financial struggles and emotional challenges.

Anthony shared, “She had the nurturing role, but at the same time that role to push us, to make us go through those uncomfortable moments … [which] in the long run would help us improve as human beings.”

Now 37, Anthony is married to realtor Laura Robles, who he credits as his biggest supporter, and together they have a son named Abel. Anthony continues to inspire as a wrestling coach, ESPN commentator, motivational speaker, and president of the Robles Unstoppable Foundation, which offers scholarships and mentorship programs.
