A major online feud erupted on October 7, 2025, after food influencer Aurora Griffo posted a mixed review of JL Patisserie, a bakery in Scottsdale, Arizona. What began as a standard food critique quickly turned into a viral controversy involving accusations of bullying, dishonesty, and demands for free food.
Who Is Aurora Griffo?
Aurora Griffo is a TikTok food influencer known as “Glamorama”, famous for her blunt and dramatic food reviews. She often visits cafés, bakeries, and restaurants, sharing strong opinions with her followers. Her content style is bold, sarcastic, and unfiltered — which has earned her both fans and critics.
What Sparked the Feud?
Griffo visited JL Patisserie and shared a review criticizing several items:
Pistachio filling color
Sour and acidic coffee
Expensive $5 canelé
Thin quiche crust
She did praise one item — the pumpkin pie croissant — but overall called the bakery’s flavors “too rich and sweet.”
Initially, her video received only around 8,000 likes. But everything changed when the bakery publicly responded.
JL Patisserie Fights Back
The bakery’s CEO, Jenna Leurquin, posted a video accusing Griffo of trying to get free food in exchange for a good review. According to Leurquin: “She said that if we offered food for free, she would leave a good review.”
Leurquin also defended her ingredients, showing imported Italian pistachio paste, European flour, and their six-month sourdough starter. She accused the influencer of spreading false information and disrespecting small businesses.
Her response hit over 2 million likes.
Aurora Griffo Responds
Aurora quickly replied, saying: “Someone finally stood up to me. Kudos. But I don’t respect the lies.”
She denied ever promising a good review in exchange for free food and shared screenshots of alleged messages with the bakery. In her message, she claimed she only offered a fair collaboration — not bribery.
Griffo admitted she is known for tough reviews but argued the bakery was “punching down” because it has a bigger following.
Public Reaction
The internet is divided:
Some support the bakery, praising them for standing up against influencer pressure.
Others defend Aurora, saying harsh reviews are part of content creation.
The incident sparked a larger debate about influencer responsibility, restaurant respect, and online ethics.
What JL Patisserie Says Now
In a statement, Jenna Leurquin clarified: “I did not want to target hate. My message was about behavior — not a person. I stand by my team and our craft.”
