Ducky Bhai Faces 7-Year Jail and Rs10 Million Fine in Betting App Case?
One of Pakistan’s most prominent YouTube personalities, Saad-ur-Rahman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, remains in custody following his arrest by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) at Lahore Airport on August 16, 2025.
The news of his arrest sent shockwaves through social media and the nation’s digital community, where Ducky Bhai has amassed millions of followers across various platforms.
The case against him alleges involvement in money laundering, promoting online gambling, and spreading obscene content. Investigators claim that the YouTuber exploited his vast social media influence to advertise illegal gambling applications and lure the public into unlawful investment schemes.
Authorities reportedly seized suspicious WhatsApp numbers and critical digital evidence from his mobile phone, which they say reveal significant illegal financial transactions.
While fans express concern over his detention, legal expert Advocate Mustansar Nazar Gagh cautioned that under the charges listed in the FIR, “Ducky Bhai faces up to 7 years in prison and fines reaching Rs10 million.” Although some charges are non-bailable, parts of the FIR indicate that he might be eligible for bail, creating uncertainty around the case’s outcome.
This high-profile arrest comes amid a broader crackdown by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) targeting celebrities and social media influencers flaunting lavish lifestyles. The FBR recently established a Lifestyle Monitoring Cell to scrutinize social media activity against declared incomes and tax filings.
Officials have flagged over 100,000 individuals whose online displays of wealth far exceed their reported earnings, intensifying scrutiny on Pakistan’s digital celebrity culture. While no official confirmation has been made regarding further arrests, speculation continues to grow.
This development highlights the increasing regulatory pressure on social media influencers in Pakistan as authorities aim to curb illegal activities and ensure financial transparency.
