PPP Finalizes Consultations for New AJK Prime Minister

The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has completed internal consultations to select a new Prime Minister for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) following ongoing political developments.

According to party sources, the PPP has also concluded discussions with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and is expected to announce the new AJK Prime Minister soon.

Names under consideration include Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Chaudhry Yaseen, and Sardar Yaqoob, one of whom is likely to be finalized after mutual consensus.

Sources said the PPP is committed to selecting the new AJK Prime Minister through a unanimous decision, emphasizing political stability and cooperation among allied parties.

The party is reportedly waiting for the next move from current AJK Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq. If he resigns, the announcement of the new Prime Minister will follow immediately. However, if he decides to face the no-confidence motion, PPP leaders may allow additional time before proceeding.

PPP insiders added that the party currently holds more than the required number of assembly members to form the new government and is not in any rush.

Sources further stated that the PML-N has decided to extend full political support to the PPP, even if it chooses not to take part in the government directly.
