PIA overcomes strike attempt, resumes normal flight schedule
KARACHI: Dozens of PIA flights were delayed after a disruption caused by the engineering group SEP, which the airline described as an illegal organization.
According to the PIA spokesperson, SEP tried to block the clearance of aircraft to disrupt flight operations. However, the airline’s management and engineering teams successfully restored operations using alternate arrangements.
The spokesperson said the purpose of SEP’s move was to paralyze the airline’s system, but the management’s quick action prevented that.
Due to the illegal strike, several flights faced delays, and five flights were cancelled because of the increased operational load. PIA has offered alternative flights to all affected passengers.
The spokesperson added that PIA’s flight operations have now gradually resumed, and normal schedules will be restored very soon.
