NEPRA approves reduction in electricity prices across Pakistan

08 November, 2025 14:57

ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has approved a reduction in electricity prices, providing relief to consumers.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested a cut of 37 paise per unit, but Nepra has increased the reduction to 48 paise per unit. This reduction will not apply to lifeline consumers.

The decrease in electricity prices comes as a fuel price adjustment for September. According to the notification, the relief will be reflected in November electricity bills and will also benefit consumers in Karachi.

This move aims to ease the burden on electricity users amid rising energy costs.
