Russia Warns Gaza Ceasefire Is Fragile, Calls for Political Solution
Russian Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzya, has warned that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip is fragile and urged the international community to address the core issues in the region. He stressed that while the ceasefire is a positive step, people should not become complacent.
Nebenzya emphasized the importance of a political solution based on the long-standing two-state framework, advocating for the establishment of a sovereign Palestinian state within the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. He said the UN-backed plan for Palestine should remain the focus of international efforts.
Meanwhile, the al-Qassam Brigades stated that Israel is fully responsible for ongoing clashes in Rafah and stressed that their fighters are defending themselves. The group declared that surrender is not an option and vowed to continue resistance despite Israeli military operations.
The al-Qassam Brigades warned that any escalation by Israel will be met with a response, highlighting ongoing tensions and violations in Rafah.?
