Iran Warns of Stronger Response to Any New Foreign Aggression

16 November, 2025 10:48

Fatemeh Mohajerani, the Iranian government spokeswomen, has warned that Iran will respond “even harsher and more forcefully” than before if the country faces new foreign aggression.

Speaking to Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen TV on Saturday, she said Iran is fully committed to defending its sovereignty and people. Referring to the Israeli-American attack on Iran in June, Mohajerani stated that Iran would not consider external sensitivities when protecting its territory.

She added that Iran has strengthened its missile capabilities to address weaknesses exposed in previous attacks. “Iran’s approach is based on action, not slogans,” she said, highlighting the country’s readiness to confront any threat.

On diplomacy, Mohajerani said that current Western talks are “meaningless” if they rely on coercion. She noted that Iran has received indirect messages about possible negotiations but stressed that any talks must be based on mutual interests and respect.

She said Iran remains serious about negotiations, peace, and global engagement. However, discussions with the West will only focus on Iran’s nuclear program and not on any other issues.

Mohajerani reiterated that Iran’s nuclear activities remain peaceful and support civilian fields such as medicine, agriculture, and research. She confirmed that some enriched uranium was affected during the recent conflict, but Iran continues to operate within the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

She criticized European countries for triggering the “snapback mechanism” earlier this year, calling it illegal. According to her, Iran-Europe relations must be based on mutual benefit and respect.

Mohajerani highlighted Iran’s resilience under Western sanctions, pointing to economic reforms and stronger domestic production. She emphasized Iran’s focus on expanding strategic partnerships with Russia and China, including trade, joint projects, and educational exchanges.

She added that Iran is also working to deepen ties with Persian Gulf countries.

On regional issues, Mohajerani said Iran supports an immediate end to aggression in Gaza and long-term peace for Palestinians. She criticized Israeli expansionism and said resistance forces are essential for regional stability.

She affirmed Lebanon’s right to maintain its defensive capabilities and expressed Iran’s support for Syria’s sovereignty and peaceful regional role.

Mohajerani also said Iran is monitoring U.S. military activities in the Caribbean due to concerns about possible intervention in countries like Venezuela.

She concluded by reaffirming Iran’s commitment to defending its people, strengthening self-reliance, and pursuing diplomacy based on mutual respect.
