Who is Jagjit Singh? Indian Man Deported from Canada for Harassing Schoolgirls
Ontario, Canada, November 2025: A 51-year-old Indian citizen, Jagjit Singh, has been deported from Canada after being found guilty of harassing two schoolgirls in Ontario. The Canadian court also banned him from returning to the country.
According to media reports, Singh had arrived in Canada on a six-month visa in July to visit his newborn grandson. Soon after arriving, he started visiting a high school’s smoking area repeatedly. There, he approached young girls, attempted to take photos with them, and engaged in inappropriate conversations.
The harassment reportedly took place between September 8 and September 11. Singh even followed the girls outside the school premises. One girl told the police that she initially refused to take a photo with him, but agreed hoping he would leave afterward. During the photo, Singh got very close and put his hand on her shoulder, causing fear.
Jagjit Singh was arrested on September 16 and charged with sexual harassment and assault. After being released on bail, another complaint led to his re-arrest, during which he admitted in court to harassing the schoolgirls.
The Canadian court stated that Singh had no reason to be inside the school premises and his behavior was unacceptable. The judge ordered his immediate deportation and banned him from entering Canada in the future.
