UAE processes 500 visas for Pakistani nationals daily

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced major visa facilitation measures for Pakistani nationals. These include online visa processing and e-visas without the need for passport stamping. Currently, the UAE is processing nearly 500 applications daily for Pakistani citizens.

The reforms were highlighted during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Salem M Salem AlBawab Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division on Thursday. According to a joint statement, the new measures aim to make travel easier for business visitors and residents, supported by better coordination between UAE and Pakistani authorities.

Ambassador Al Zaabi praised the contributions of Pakistani professionals in banking, defence, public administration, and finance, and emphasized that strengthening bilateral engagement will remain a priority during his tenure.

The meeting also discussed expanding economic cooperation in sectors such as IT, AI, agriculture, mining, logistics, higher education, ports, financial services, and virtual assets. The UAE expressed interest in attracting Pakistani technology firms and increasing investment in Pakistan.

Additionally, both sides talked about defence cooperation and training exchanges, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening long-standing military ties.

These measures are expected to make travel and business easier for Pakistani nationals while boosting cooperation between the two countries.
