Pakistan, Egypt Move to Boost Trade with 250-Firm White List

Pakistan and Egypt have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, emphasizing the long-standing bond of brotherhood between the two nations.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighted the “encouraging progress in recent engagements at various levels on the margins of multilateral and regional forums around the world, aimed at promoting long-term cooperation, partnership, and brotherhood.” He noted that Pakistan and Egypt are determined to elevate their multidimensional ties to a higher level, reflecting the strong global recognition of their historic relationship.

In his remarks, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Abdelaty extended “sincere condolences and sympathies from the Egyptian government and people over the tragic loss of lives in the recent terrorist attacks in Islamabad and Peshawar.” He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Pakistan in its efforts to combat terrorism and emphasized the value Egypt places on its cordial relations with Pakistan.

Both ministers acknowledged the shared challenges their countries face in economic, political, and security spheres, which serve as a foundation for closer cooperation, the exchange of expertise, and the sharing of best practices.

“Peace and stability are the main pillars of our strategic partnership,” Abdelaty said, underlining Egypt’s intention to elevate the relationship to a strategic level and revitalize institutional mechanisms of dialogue, particularly the Joint Ministerial Committee. He added that, under the guidance of their top leadership, Egypt is committed to strengthening bilateral cooperation in all fields.

The discussions signal a renewed focus on deepening ties and fostering collaboration between Pakistan and Egypt, reinforcing their shared commitment to regional stability and long-term partnership.
