RaKai Sparks Controversy Over QTCinderella Comments as Twitch Extends Ban
Streamer RaKai, also known as Quvonn Rakai Linder, is trending again after a viral video surfaced featuring him speaking to his mother over a phone call. The clip shows his mother asking him to return home following the controversy surrounding his remarks about fellow streamer QTCinderella.
The incident originated when QTCinderella made a joke referencing a video in which RaKai was seen giving flowers to a woman without paying for them. During the clip, she asked RaKai about “the coolest thing” he had ever stolen. On December 8, RaKai responded during a live stream, saying:
“I was gonna say, ‘Listen, bih. What’s the coolest di you’ve ever sucked?’… I was gonna say that sh*t to her face, in front of everybody.”
The following day, a video of RaKai talking to his mother went viral. In the video, RaKai’s mother can be heard admonishing him, saying:
“That is not how to carry yourself. That is not how you talk to a woman, first of all. I raised you way better than that. So guess what? Your a** is coming home, since you think you’re grown. I’m booking your flight tomorrow.”
RaKai posted the same clip to his Instagram Story, stating that the matter was “over.” As of now, there have been no further updates regarding whether he has met or spoken with his mother.
Twitch Ban and Platform Response
Earlier this month, RaKai revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that he had been banned from Twitch for “illegal activities,” with the suspension set to end in December 2027. The platform did not disclose the specific incident that led to the ban, although a live video showed RaKai giving a bouquet to a woman without paying for it inside a Walmart, as reported by Complex.
RaKai also attempted to address the ban directly with Twitch CEO Dan Clancy at the Streamer Awards. According to RaKai, Clancy said:
“You know why you were banned. Oh, you do. Your SPM told you why you were banned. You don’t need to ask me about it. I don’t handle anyone’s ban — the entire process is taken care of by a team, which lifts the ban at the right time.”
Twitch later clarified that the suspension period appearing online was due to a visual bug, and their team was working to resolve the issue.
The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media about streamer behavior, platform moderation, and the responsibility of content creators in public interactions.
