Bombshell Interview: Susie Wiles Labels Trump ‘Alcoholic Personality’
On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, Vanity Fair published a shocking interview between White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles and journalist Chris Whipple, who is regarded as an authority on White House issues.
Eleven in-depth, recorded interviews with Susie Wiles conducted over the course of the previous year served as the basis for Chris Whipple’s interview.
Chris Whipple’s 2017 novel “The Gatekeepers” is his most well-known work.
President Trump’s White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles described Trump as having “an alcoholic’s personality” and referred to Vice President JD Vance as “a conspiracy theorist” in Chris Whipple’s most recent interview, which caused a stir on social media.
Wiles compared President Donald Trump’s personality to that of an alcoholic in a Whipple profile.
Trump later acknowledged in a phone conversation with The Post that he hadan “obsessivee and addictive personality,” despite the fact that he does not drink.
“No, she meant that I’m—you see, I’d have a very good chance of being an alcoholic,” Trump said in defense of Susie Wiles. I do, as I have stated numerous times about myself. The personality is highly possessive.
“I’ve said that many times about myself,” Trump continued. Fortunately, I don’t drink. I could certainly do so if I did, since I’ve already stated that—what’s the word? Not possessive, but possessive and compulsive in nature. Yes, I have stated this numerous times in the past.
“I didn’t read it, but I don’t read Vanity Fair—but she’s done a fantastic job,” Trump said, demonstrating his complete faith in Susie Wiles.
He called Chris a “misguided interviewer” and refuted the information presented in the interview.
“Ithink,k from what I hear, the facts were wrong, and it was a very misguided interviewer, purposely misguided,” he continued.
Susie Wiles, on the other hand, refuted it on X, calling the profile a “disingenuously framed hit piece” and arguing it painted “an overwhelmingly chaotic and negative narrative about the President and our team.”
Staff member Susie Wiles wrote that he had complete faith in Trump’s leadership: “The truth is the Trump White House has already accomplished more in eleven months than any other president has accomplished in eight years, and that is due to the unmatched leadership and vision of President Trump, for whom I have been honored to work for the better part of a decade.”
In an effort to minimize the shocking interview, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt used X to repost Wiles’ reply post while praising him.
Leavitt penned, “Chief of Staff Susie Wiles has helped President Trump achieve the most successful first 11 months in office of any president in American history.”
She said, acknowledging Wiles’s leadership, “President Trump has no greater or more loyal advisor than Susie. The entire administration is grateful for her steady leadership and united fully behind her.”
