Gold prices increase in Pakistan – December 20, 2025: check new rates

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan went up on Saturday, December 20, 2025, following an increase in international gold rates, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).

The price of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,300, reaching Rs456,162 per tola.
At the same time, 10 grams of 24-karat gold went up by Rs1,115 to Rs391,085, while 10 grams of 22-karat gold rose by Rs1,022 to Rs358,507.

In the international market, gold prices increased by $13 to $4,338 per ounce.

Silver prices also moved up. 24-karat silver per tola rose by Rs139 to Rs6,987, while 10 grams of silver increased by Rs119 to Rs5,990. Globally, silver prices gained $1.39 to reach $67.15 per ounce.

Gold Price Outlook for 2026

The year 2025 proved to be very important for gold prices worldwide. Gold was no longer seen only as protection against inflation. Instead, it became a strong reserve asset for countries and investors.

Gold prices rose sharply during the year. In some reports, prices were up over 50% for the year. The rally reached a peak in mid-October when gold touched a record high of around $4,381 per ounce.

Experts say this rise was driven by global uncertainty, political tensions, and strong buying by central banks. Many countries increased gold reserves as part of plans to reduce reliance on the US dollar. Investment demand through gold ETFs also remained strong.

Looking ahead to 2026, most experts remain positive about gold. Many expect the US Federal Reserve to cut interest rates, which usually supports gold prices. Large financial institutions like UBS and Goldman Sachs predict gold could trade between $4,400 and $4,900 per ounce next year.
