Saudi Cabinet Vows to Counter Any Threat to National Security

31 December, 2025 10:59

The Saudi Arabian cabinet, chaired by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, reiterated its determination that Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to take the necessary measures to counter any threat or threat to its national security.

The cabinet also reiterated the kingdom’s firm commitment to Yemen’s security, stability, and sovereignty, and declared full support for the head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council and his government.

The cabinet expressed regret over the outcome of the efforts to reduce tensions, to which the kingdom had paid special attention, but which were met with unnecessary provocations in response, which contradict the foundations of the unity in support of the constitutional government in Yemen and are not conducive to the goals of peace and stability in Yemen.

This behavior is also inconsistent with all the assurances that were given to Saudi Arabia by the United Arab Emirates.

The cabinet commended the role of the Coalition in Support of the Constitutional Government in Yemen, which, at the request of Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi, Head of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, took measures to protect civilians in Hadhramaut and Al-Mahra governorates and reduce tensions to achieve peace and stability and prevent the spread of the conflict.

The cabinet also expressed the hope that wisdom would prevail and that the principles of brotherhood, good neighborliness, and close relations between the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council would be prioritized, while keeping in mind the interests of the brotherly country of Yemen. In this context, the United Arab Emirates was called upon to comply with Yemen’s request to withdraw its forces within 24 hours.

At the same time, all military or financial support to the Southern Transitional Council and any other party within Yemen should be stopped, and the UAE should take the expected steps that can protect the bilateral relations that the kingdom is interested in strengthening, and joint efforts can move forward for the prosperity, development and stability of the countries of the region.

King Salman bin Abdulaziz also briefed the cabinet on the contents of a letter received from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, which relates to bilateral relations between the two countries.
