Dubai shares work visa update for Pakistanis and others

06 January, 2026 17:31

DUBAI: The Anti-Fraud Centre at Dubai Police’s General Department of Criminal Investigation has warned the public to stay alert against scammers offering fake work visas.

“These fraudsters often lure victims with hollow promises of employment and visa sponsorship that have no legal basis,” the Dubai police said in a statement.

As part of the ongoing #BewareOfFraud campaign, police officials remind everyone that the only safe way to get a visa is through official government channels and legally licensed recruitment agencies.

“Members of the public are encouraged to report scams immediately through the Dubai Police smart app, by calling 901, or via the eCrime platform dedicated to reporting cybercrime,” the statement added.

Dubai Work Visa
A Dubai work visa (Employment Visa) is required for foreign nationals to work legally in the UAE. This visa is usually sponsored by an employer, who handles most of the application process.

The process involves obtaining a work permit from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) and a residence visa. These visas are typically valid for 1 to 2 years and can be renewed.

To qualify, applicants must have a job offer, pass a medical fitness test, and get an Emirates ID to maintain legal residency and employment status in the UAE.
