Karachi, Pakistan — The Sindh government has announced that all government and private educational institutions across the province will remain closed on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in observance of Shab-e-Miraj.
The Sindh Education Department issued an official notification confirming the holiday for schools, colleges, and other educational institutions. Shab-e-Miraj, a significant event in the Islamic calendar, commemorates the night journey and ascension of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Authorities have urged all educational institutions to follow the holiday directive and resume regular classes from Sunday, January 18, 2026. Parents and students are advised to plan accordingly for the day off.
This announcement applies to both government and private schools throughout Sindh, ensuring that the observance of this religious occasion is respected across the province.
