Govt Forms Committee to Decide Rs10 Banknote Fate

There has been a significant development regarding the future of the ten-rupee banknote.

The federal cabinet has formed a committee, headed by the finance minister, to review whether the ten-rupee banknote should be retained or discontinued.

According to sources, the federal cabinet has directed the committee to formulate its recommendations while taking the production cost of the banknote into account. Additionally, the committee has been tasked with examining whether a ten-rupee coin would be more cost-effective than the current banknote.

The committee will present its findings to the federal cabinet, after which a final decision will be made regarding the future of the ten-rupee note.
