Gold prices hit record high in Pakistan – Jan 21, 2026: Check new rates
Gold prices in the local bullion market jumped to a new record on Wednesday, creating history with a massive single-day increase. The price of gold rose by more than Rs 12,700 per tola, surprising investors and buyers across the country.
This sharp rise came after a strong upward movement in the international market, where gold prices increased by more than $120 per ounce in one day.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24-karat gold per tola has reached Rs 506,362, after going up by Rs 12,700. Meanwhile, 24-karat gold per 10 grams is now selling at Rs 434,123, with an increase of Rs 10,888. The price of 22-karat gold per 10 grams also went up to Rs 397,960, showing a rise of Rs 9,981.
In the international market, gold is currently trading at $4,840 per ounce, after gaining $127 in a single day.
Silver Prices Also Increase
Silver prices also moved up along with gold in both local and global markets. The price of 24-karat silver per tola increased by Rs 64 to reach Rs 9,933. At the same time, 24-karat silver per 10 grams is now priced at Rs 8,515, after rising by Rs 54.
In the global market, silver prices also went up by $0.64, taking the rate to $94.58 per ounce.
Experts say the sudden jump in gold prices is mainly due to the strong rally in the international market and changes in local currency conditions. Even though the US dollar remained mostly stable in the inter-bank market at Rs 280.3, the rapid increase in gold and silver prices has taken many people by surprise.
