PTA Tax rates on Google Pixel phones drop sharply in Pakistan – check here

The Directorate General of Customs Valuation Karachi has officially released the new Valuation Ruling. While iPhone and Samsung users saw good reductions, the Google Pixel lineup has arguably received the most shocking price cuts of all.

In the past, niche devices like the Pixel were often assessed arbitrarily, leading to high PTA taxes. Under the new ruling, Customs has fixed the values for imported used Pixels at very low rates. Even the latest Pixel 9 series devices now fall into budget tax brackets.

“Impossible” Deals

Some of the new valuations seem almost unbelievable, but they are real:

• Pixel 9 Pro ($195): This is the biggest surprise. Its customs value is just $195, putting it in the $100–$200 slab. The PTA tax is around Rs. 13,000 for this latest flagship.

• Pixel 8a ($98): Valued under $100, it falls in the Entry Slab ($30–$100). Tax is only Rs. 4,500 (approx).

• Pixel 6a ($28): With a value under $30, it is in the Minimum Slab, attracting just Rs. 1,500 in tax.

Flagship Performance, In-Budget PTA Tax

High-end Pixel “Pro” models from previous years are now cheaper to register than many mid-range phones:

• Pixel 9 Pro XL ($260): Even the largest Pixel stays in the Mid Slab, costing around Rs. 31,640.

• Pixel 7 Pro & 8 Pro: Both former flagship models are under $200, paying the standard Low Slab tax of ~Rs. 13,000.

Pixel fans should consider registering Pixel 9 Pro and 8a models quickly, as these are historically low PTA tax rates for such premium devices.
