Her resignation follows the earlier departure of former National Security Agency director Dejan Vukšić, who served as a presidential adviser. Both cited “personal reasons” for leaving their posts, but accusations have since spiraled into a high-profile scandal.
Prior to her resignation, Pajković filed three complaints with police against Vukšić, alleging that he leaked the explicit recordings online. Vukšić, however, denied any involvement, stating, “I reject all inaccurate, incomplete, and tendentious allegations by which, without evidence, responsibility is being attributed to me for the violation of M.P.’s privacy and the distribution of the disputed recordings. I saw that content for the first time only when it began to circulate illegally on social networks.”
Vukšić countered by claiming that Pajković had “illegally taken away his mobile phone” in October 2024, which he says was subsequently misused, prompting him to file a police report earlier this month. He further alleged that a controversial audio recording emerged, in which he was purportedly heard threatening that “all of Montenegro will see” compromising material of Pajković.
He also accused Pajković of attempting to influence his candidacy for the Constitutional Court, alleging she sought to use the content from his phone to pressure him into supporting her nomination for a promotion. Pajković’s team has disputed these claims.
Revenge p*rnography is a serious offense in Montenegro, with penalties of up to five years in prison for those found guilty of distributing someone else’s explicit material without consent.
