Elon Musk Reacts to Epstein File Release Following DOJ Document Disclosure
Elon Musk has expressed strong support for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files, emphasizing the importance of transparency while denying any close association with the convicted financier. On January 31, 2026, Musk wrote on X: “No one pushed harder than me to have the Epstein files released, and I’m glad that has finally happened.”
He clarified his limited interactions with Epstein, stating, “I had very little correspondence with Epstein and declined repeated invitations to visit his island or fly on his ‘Lolita Express’, but I was well aware that some email exchanges could be misinterpreted and used by detractors to smear my name.”
Musk highlighted that personal attacks were not his concern, focusing instead on accountability and justice: “I don’t care about that, but what I do care about is that we at least attempt to prosecute those who committed serious crimes with Epstein, especially regarding the heinous exploitation of underage girls.”
His remarks come in the wake of the U.S. Department of Justice releasing millions of documents, including emails between Musk and Epstein from 2012 to 2014, discussing potential visits to Epstein’s island. Musk has consistently maintained that he never visited and rejected all invitations. His statement reinforces a call for transparency and prioritizing justice for victims over reputational concerns.
Additionally, the newly released files include allegations against other high-profile figures, including claims that Bill Gates sought antibiotics for an STD following sexual encounters with young women from Russia.
