No Terrorist, Facilitator Will Be Spared, Says CDF Asim Munir After Balochistan Attacks
Chief of Defence Staff (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has vowed that no terrorist or facilitator involved in recent Balochistan attacks will escape punishment. He made these remarks during his visit to Quetta on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
CDF Munir Visits Quetta After Deadly Attacks
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir received a detailed security briefing from senior military officials. The briefing focused on the current law and order situation in Balochistan and ongoing internal security operations.
Officials informed him about the recent wave of coordinated terrorist attacks carried out across multiple districts of the province. These attacks targeted civilians and security forces in several areas, including Quetta, Mastung, Gwadar, Panjgur, and Nushki.
India-Backed Terror Network Discussed in Briefing
According to ISPR, the briefing highlighted the involvement of India-backed, internationally designated terrorists operating under the banner of Fitna al-Hindustan. Military officials said the attacks were aimed at disrupting peace and slowing development in Balochistan.
Security forces responded swiftly and aggressively. Their actions, officials said, prevented the terrorists from achieving their objectives.
Heavy Losses in Terror Attacks
Security sources said the attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 22 security personnel and 36 civilians on January 31. Following the violence, security forces launched a large-scale counterterrorism operation across the province.
As part of the crackdown, 197 militants were killed in intelligence-based operations conducted over several days.
“No One Can Justify Terrorism,” Says CDF
While addressing officers during the visit, Field Marshal Munir issued a strong warning. He said that every terrorist and facilitator would be dealt with strictly under the law.
“No one can justify violence or terrorism on any grounds,” he stated, according to ISPR.
He added that the writ of the state would be fully enforced and public safety would remain the top priority.
Appreciation for Security Forces
The army chief praised the professionalism and courage of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, police, and other law enforcement agencies. He said their sacrifices were crucial in protecting national security and maintaining peace.
He also stressed the importance of securing critical infrastructure and ensuring the safety of civilians across Balochistan.
Visit to CMH Quetta
Field Marshal Asim Munir, along with the Balochistan Chief Minister, visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta. He met injured soldiers and police personnel who were wounded during recent operations.
He praised their morale and bravery, calling them a source of pride for the nation.
Strong Message Against Foreign-Sponsored Terrorism
The visit ended with a clear message from the military leadership. Pakistan will not tolerate foreign-sponsored terrorism. Any attempt to destabilize the country will be met with full force.
Earlier, on arrival in Quetta, the CDF and COAS was received by the Commander Quetta Corps.
