Balochistan’s Peace and Security Remain National Priority: Rana Sanaullah

08 February, 2026 19:29

Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Advisor on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has emphasized that security operations are ongoing in Balochistan and that maintaining peace requires collective effort from all stakeholders.

Speaking to the media, he said that “Balochistan’s peace and development are a priority,” highlighting that terrorists target innocent civilians under the influence of Pakistan’s enemies, and those responsible for killing innocents “have no relation to humanity.”

Rana Sanaullah stressed that Baloch people are patriotic Pakistanis, and terrorist activities have no connection with them. He referred to the Jaffer Express attack, noting that while celebrations were observed in India, Pakistan faced the brunt of terrorism. He added that past events in Balochistan cannot be reversed.

He further stated that “bodies from Balochistan reach all over Pakistan,” with innocent people from Punjab being targeted, often in front of their families, and stressed that perpetrators of such violence “cannot be called saviors.” He questioned whether those claiming to be liberators are the ones destroying railway bridges or setting up roadblocks.

On security, he said that India has suffered setbacks in the battle against truth, and the state has fully identified terrorist elements. Currently, there are “two distinct issues in Balochistan,” each requiring a separate resolution approach.

Rana Sanaullah also addressed economic and governance concerns, noting that Baloch businesses in Faisalabad contribute billions, and that while the province receives its share, its districts and divisions often remain underserved. He highlighted that the 18th Amendment and NFC awards were implemented after consulting all stakeholders.

Commenting on political matters, he questioned delays in electoral reforms, stating that “for transparent elections, who has prevented political parties?” He also pointed out that previous reforms under the parliamentary system, including the establishment of election commissions, were not fully executed.
