Supreme Court Orders Medical Team for Imran Khan’s Eye, Allows Phone Call with Sons

Govt considers transferring PTI Founder from Adiala Jail
Islamabad, February 12, 2026 — The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Thursday directed the formation of a medical team to examine former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s eye. The court also allowed him to speak to his children, with both actions to be completed before February 16.
A two-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan, resumed hearing a case regarding Imran Khan’s living conditions at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Orders of the Court
The medical inspection of Imran Khan’s eye, which underwent a procedure on January 24, must be conducted before Monday, February 16.
The former premier is allowed a phone call with his sons before the same date.
The court rejected the request to allow family members to be present during the eye examination.
Earlier, PTI counsel Advocate Salman Safdar, appointed as amicus curiae, submitted a detailed seven-page report on Imran Khan’s prison conditions after meeting him at Adiala Jail.
The SC’s directives aim to ensure medical attention for Imran Khan while respecting the legal protocols of imprisonment.
