Who Is Adeeb Ahmad? K-Electric Appoints Him as Interim CEO

The Board of Directors of K-Electric (KE) has appointed Adeeb Ahmad as the company’s Interim Chief Executive Officer, with immediate effect.

The decision was announced through a formal press release issued on Friday.

K-Electric said the appointment follows an earlier notification shared with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on February 6, 2026.

The board confirmed that the decision was taken during its meeting held on February 13, 2026.

Adeeb Ahmad replaces Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi, who stepped down from the role last week.

Why Did Moonis Alvi Step Down?

Moonis Alvi resigned after a period of controversy linked to a workplace harassment case.

Earlier, Kamran Tessori, the Governor of Sindh, overturned a provincial ombudsman’s order that had sought Alvi’s removal.

Despite the legal relief, Alvi later announced his decision to resign.

Moonis Alvi’s Statement

Moonis Alvi shared his decision in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

He said he was stepping down after nearly 18 years with K-Electric, including almost eight years as CEO.

“It has been an honour to serve an institution so central to Karachi’s life,” Alvi wrote.
“I will support a smooth transition,” he added.

Who Is Adeeb Ahmad?

K-Electric has not yet released a detailed profile of Adeeb Ahmad.

However, sources say he is a senior executive with experience in power sector operations and corporate management.

As Interim CEO, Ahmad will oversee day-to-day operations and ensure continuity during the leadership transition.
