The Pakistan Stock Exchange remained under pressure on Tuesday as heavy selling continued in the market.

By the end of trading, the benchmark KSE-100 Index closed at 173,150.41, down 1,303.52 points or 0.75%. Investors continued to sell shares, which pushed the market lower.

This decline came after a major drop on Monday. On that day, the KSE-100 Index had fallen sharply by 5,149.79 points, or 2.87%, closing at 174,453.94. The strong selling showed weak investor confidence and growing market uncertainty.

Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee showed a slight improvement against the US dollar in the inter-bank market. By the end of trading on Tuesday, the rupee stood at 279.60 against the dollar, gaining Rs0.01.

A day earlier, the rupee had closed at 279.61, according to data shared by the State Bank of Pakistan.
