KUWAIT CITY – February 23, 2026: The government of Kuwait has announced a two-day public holiday on February 25 and 26 to celebrate the country’s 65th National Day and 35th Liberation Day.
The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
Schools and Government Offices to Remain Closed
According to the official announcement, all government ministries, public institutions, and educational centers will remain closed on:

Thursday, February 26
Kuwait already observes Friday and Saturday as the official weekend. This means citizens will enjoy a four-day long break.
Government offices will reopen on Sunday, March 1.
