New Official Rates Updated for Meat, Chicken, and Eggs

Islamabad, February 25, 2026 – The government of Pakistan has released the new official rates for essential food items, including meat, poultry, and eggs. Citizens are advised to follow the updated prices to avoid overcharging.

Updated Meat Prices

The official notification sets the price of mutton (goat meat) at Rs 2,400 per kilogram. Meanwhile, beef has been fixed at Rs 1,200 per kilogram.

These rates are part of the government’s ongoing effort to stabilize the prices of essential food items in markets across Pakistan.

Poultry and Chicken Rates

For poultry, live broiler chicken will now be available at Rs 304 per kilogram, while broiler chicken meat is priced at Rs 461 per kilogram.

Officials have stressed that these rates should be strictly followed by sellers and wholesalers to ensure affordability for consumers.

Egg Prices

Farm eggs have been set at Rs 236 per dozen. Authorities have instructed relevant departments to monitor markets closely and take strict action against overcharging or price manipulation.

Enforcement

The government has directed provincial authorities and market regulators to ensure that the new rates are implemented in all retail and wholesale markets. Failure to comply may result in penalties under consumer protection laws.
