Petrol, diesel prices likely to rise from March 1 - check new rates
ISLAMABAD: Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are likely to go up from March 1, 2026. The final decision will be made and approved by the federal government in the coming days.
According to a report by Arif Habib Limited, petroleum prices may increase by as much as Rs 6.80 per liter.
As per the proposal, the price of motor spirit (petrol) is expected to rise by Rs 5.13 per liter. If approved, the new petrol price could reach Rs 263.30 per liter. In the same way, the price of high-speed diesel is likely to increase by Rs 6.80 per liter, which could take its new price to Rs 282.50 per liter.
The report says that the main reason for this expected increase is the rise in crude oil prices in the international market. The price of Arab Light crude oil has increased by 2.7 percent. Import costs have also slightly gone up, which has affected overall fuel prices in Pakistan.
In the last fortnightly review, the government had already increased fuel prices. At that time, high-speed diesel was set at Rs 275.70 per liter, while petrol was fixed at Rs 258.17 per liter.
Now, consumers are waiting for the government’s final announcement regarding the new fuel prices.
