SIFC Supports Industrial Development and New Investment Opportunities in GB

Pakistan is creating new investment opportunities to promote industrial development beyond traditional industrial centres.

The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is bringing together relevant institutions to develop the Maqpondass Special Economic Zone in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The project aims to establish the special economic zone across 250 acres through a public-private partnership.

The zone is expected to create investment and employment opportunities in agriculture, minerals, handicrafts and wood products.

The Maqpondass Special Economic Zone will use Gilgit-Baltistan’s natural resources and access to Chinese markets to promote investment and economic activity in the region.

The project is expected to support local industries, create jobs and contribute to economic growth in Gilgit-Baltistan.
