Pakistan Rejects Afghan Taliban Claims About Modern Omid Hospital Attack

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan has strongly rejected allegations made by the Afghan Taliban regime regarding an alleged attack on Omid Hospital, calling the claims baseless and misleading.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that Pakistan’s operation targeted a military terrorist ammunition and equipment storage site, not a hospital facility.

Hospital Located Several Kilometers Away

According to the government statement, the facility referred to as Omid Hospital is located several kilometers away from the targeted site near Camp Phoenix.

Officials said comparisons between the images circulating on social media clearly show the difference between the multi-storey hospital building and the military infrastructure that was actually targeted.

Target Was an Ammunition Storage Facility

Authorities explained that the intended target was a weapons and ammunition storage location believed to be linked to militant activities.

The ministry said the structure hit during the operation was a military or militant facility, not a healthcare building.

Social Media Claims Called Misleading

The statement also addressed the viral posts circulating online, saying the claim that Omid Hospital was hit has already been proven false.

Officials urged people to verify information before sharing it on social media, warning that misleading narratives can spread confusion during sensitive situations.

Questions Raised About Nearby Facilities

Pakistan also raised a question about the location of a drug rehabilitation center reportedly near the camp.

According to the ministry, it remains unclear why such a facility would be placed close to an ammunition storage site inside a military camp, calling the situation unusual and requiring explanation.

Officials reiterated that the operation was carried out against a specific military target and not against civilian infrastructure.
