Lesco sets new price for single-phase AMI smart meter

Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has stopped consumers from buying AMI single-phase smart meters from the open market.

Lesco supplies electricity to millions of people in areas like Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur, Nankana Sahib, and Okara.

This decision has come just before the summer season, when the demand for single-phase meters usually increases.

New Price of Smart Meter

Under the new policy, customers must now get their meters directly from Lesco. The company has set the price of a single-phase AMI smart meter at Rs11,666. Security charges will be added separately.

Lesco said that demand notices will be issued based on the user’s electricity load. After that, the meter will be installed.

Earlier, due to a shortage of meters, people were allowed to buy meters from the market after getting a No Objection Certificate (NOC). Now, this system has been completely stopped.

How to Apply for a New Lesco Connection

Here is a simple step-by-step process:

Step 1: Visit the Electricity New Connection (ENC) system and fill out the online form.

Step 2: Enter details like connection type, NTN, district, name, CNIC, and phone number.

Step 3: Upload required documents such as property papers, undertaking, CNIC copy, and a neighbour’s electricity bill.

Step 4: Submit the application after completing all details.

Step 5: Print a copy of the application form.

Step 6: Attach all required documents with the printed form.

Step 7: Submit the complete file to the concerned Lesco office.

Step 8: Lesco will verify the documents and issue a demand notice.

Step 9: Pay the demand notice at the mentioned bank.

Step 10: Submit the payment proof to the office.

Step 11: After verification, Lesco will install your electricity connection.
