Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq ongoing in South Waziristan, say security officials
Pakistan’s military has stepped up retaliatory operations along the Pak-Afghan border under Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq, targeting militant positions in South Waziristan, according to security sources.
Officials said the strikes were coordinated against positions held by the Afghan Taliban and a group described as Fitna al-Khawarij. The operation is part of a campaign to neutralize threats along this volatile border region.
Security sources reported that multiple Taliban posts from Shawal to Zarmalan in South Waziristan were effectively destroyed during the latest phase. The Shawal valley, a key corridor for militant movement, has long been a focus of cross-border tensions.
The intensity of the strikes reportedly forced militants to retreat from their positions. The military has stated that Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq will continue until all objectives are met, suggesting that further operations may follow.
There has been no immediate response from the Afghan Taliban. The operations come amid ongoing security challenges along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, where both sides have accused each other of sheltering militants
