Prince Willaim and Princess Kate appeared to have marked the beginning of the new chapter for monarchy as the couple checked off an important element of their forthcoming coronation ceremony.

A statement from the Palace read, “Marking a historic moment for the Church of England,” Attending the Installation of Dame Sarah Mullally as the Archbishop of Canterbury at Canterbury Cathedral – the first woman to take on the role in its 1,400-year history.”
The ceremony, held at the Canterbury Cathedral on Wednesday, not only marked a crucial change for Christians but it is also a significant move for royal family.
The ceremony at Canterbury Cathedral was attended by Prince William, Princess Catherine, U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer and representatives from many of the 42 churches that comprise the Anglican Communion. Representatives from the Roman Catholic and the Orthodox church also attended.
Ahead of installation ceremony, the prince’s advisors were moved to comment on his relationship with his Christian faith. “The Prince of Wales’s commitment to the Church of England is sometimes quieter than people expect, and for that reason it is not always fully understood,” an aide told the Sunday Times.
The BBC reported that the prince was keen to “build a strong and meaningful bond with the Church and its leadership, one that respects tradition while speaking to a modern Britain.”
The Archbishop is part of the privy council and holds a formal constitutional role. Moreover, they are also responsible for crowning the Monarch at their Coronation and officiating at royal weddings, baptisms and funerals.
Prince and Princess of Wales met the new Archbishop at London home of Lambeth Palace lats month, and expressed their feeling to spending more time for create solid bond with her.
