Weather alert: Heatwave to hit Pakistan from April 11 after rains
ISLAMABAD:Â The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a heatwave alert for several districts of Sindh starting April 11. The authority warned that temperatures will rise and people may face very hot weather conditions.
This increase in temperature comes after many parts of the country recently experienced heavy rain and snowfall. According to NDMA, night temperatures may stay 3 to 5°C higher than normal, while daytime temperatures could rise by 5 to 7°C.
Areas in Sindh that may be affected include Dadu, Jacobabad, Larkana, Jamshoro, Qambar Shahdadkot, Ghotki, Khairpur, Sanghar, Umerkot, and Kashmore. Some cities in Punjab, like Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan, are also expected to face heatwave conditions.
NDMA has advised people to avoid going outside during peak heat hours, drink plenty of water, and take special care of children, elderly people, and workers. Authorities are closely watching the situation and sharing updates through the NDMA Disaster Alert app.
