Macron calls PM Shehbaz, lauds Pakistan’s role in Iran‑US ceasefire

French President Emmanuel Macron called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to congratulate him on Pakistan’s efforts to bring Iran and the United States to the negotiating table.

Macron conveyed his good wishes for the success of peace talks in Islamabad, while the prime minister thanked France for supporting Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan would continue its efforts for peace and stability in the region. Both leaders expressed deep concern over the ongoing aggression against Lebanon.

During the call, they stressed the need to end violence and bloodshed immediately to restore peace and agreed to stay in contact regarding the regional situation.
