Pakistan Offers to Host US-Iran Second Round Talks in Islamabad
Pakistan has offered to host the second round of talks between Iran and the United States.
The US news agency quoted two Pakistani officials as saying that Pakistan has proposed holding talks in Islamabad before the ceasefire expires.
According to the report, the second round of talks between the United States and Iran could take place on Thursday, while a US official has also expressed the expectation that the parties are considering new face-to-face talks for the agreement.
On the other hand, according to American TV channel CNN, negotiations between the United States and Iran are still ongoing.
A US official was quoted by the US broadcaster as saying that progress was being made towards reaching an agreement.
It should be noted that the first phase of negotiations between Pakistan and the United States took place in Islamabad on April 11. Negotiations between delegations from both countries continued for about 21 hours, but the negotiations ended without reaching a deal.
