US Seeks ‘Grand Bargain’ with Iran, Says VP JD Vance

US Vice President JD Vance has said that Donald Trump is aiming for a comprehensive agreement with Iran rather than a limited or short-term deal.
Speaking at an event in Georgia on Tuesday, Vance explained that the ongoing negotiations are part of a broader diplomatic effort, especially following a fragile ceasefire that has held for nearly a week.
He made it clear that the US administration is not interested in a partial agreement. According to Vance, Trump is focused on what he described as a “grand bargain” that addresses multiple issues at once, instead of a narrow deal.
Vance said the offer being presented to Iran is straightforward. He explained that if Iran behaves like what the US considers a “normal country,” it could receive normal economic treatment, including relief from restrictions and improved trade opportunities.
At the same time, he stressed that one of the key goals for Washington is to ensure that Iran does not develop nuclear weapons. He said this remains a major reason why negotiations are still ongoing and no final agreement has been reached so far.
Despite the challenges, Vance expressed optimism about the talks. He said both sides are continuing discussions and that a successful agreement could benefit not only the US and Iran but also global stability.
He added that the administration will keep working toward a deal, calling it an important step for international peace and economic cooperation.
