IRGC Warns Countries Supporting US Aggression of Harsh Response
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has warned countries supporting the United States in the region and beyond to change their behavior to avoid facing retaliation from Iranian forces.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the IRGC’s Public Relations said the Iranian people had remained strong and determined, which it claimed had weakened the enemy front and boosted morale among the country’s armed forces.
The statement also reported that two more oil tankers had been involved in explosions while attempting to pass through what Iran described as an unsafe shipping route south of the Strait of Hormuz. According to the IRGC, both vessels turned back quickly after a major fire broke out on one of them.
The IRGC also accused the United States of continued interference and violations in the Strait of Hormuz. It said the strategic waterway was part of Iran and remained under its full control. The group warned that Iran would not allow foreign countries located thousands of kilometers away to interfere in the region.
“With the help of God Almighty, the aggressor will be punished today, and the countries that are involved in helping the aggressor will receive a harsh response if they do not correct their behavior,” the statement warned.
The IRGC further said the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed as long as US officials continued what it described as threats, bullying and interference in maritime activities in the region.
It added that continued pressure and threats from the United States would only make the situation more difficult and complicated.
