'No Words Are Enough': Abida Parveen on the Loss of Asha Bhosle
The greatest Sufi singer of Pakistan Abida Parveen paid a heartfelt tribute to Asha Bhosle, the legendary singer who left Bollywood music industry in grief on Sunday.
She posted an emotional video on her Instagram officials, in which she praises Asha Bholse’s work that there is no word to describe Bhosle’s stature, and said “God gave her talent, and she shared it with people,” she said, calling the chance to hear her music a gift the whole world shared. She also claimed that Bhosle and her sister Lata Mangeshkar’s voices never faded, and those voices won’t come back,
Bhosle and her late sister Lata Mangeshkar’s voices will live on forever, she vowed that, voices like those won’t come again, .
Abida also recalled the moment when she wanting to meet both sisters for a long time before, when she went to India meet them for real.
In 2012, Abida Parveen and Asha Bhosle and Bangladeshi singer Runa Laila were judges on the reality music show Sur Kshetra.
Parveen spoke extensively about the impact of Asha Bhosle on Indian music.
“She has left behind something so great that every Indian singer is copying her. That’s a big deal,” she said. On every music show, she noted, singers young and old open with Bhosle’s songs and try to master her technique, something none of them have managed yet.
She further explained the parts her music techniques in deep, then emphasize again that the artist like her is extraordinary and will never exist again
“Didi (Mangeshkar) also said Asha was versatile,”
Parveen remembered, highlighting a tough song she made it with Ghulam Ali and people often talked about how they managed to accomplish it.
Praveen further said, adding that words were not enough to adequately describe her, “She was a pillar of India’s film industry as well as its shade.”
The caption for her post read, “Our deepest, most sincere condolences to Asha Bhosle Taai and her family. No words can adequately describe who we’ve lost, and what a profound loss this is, not just for India or Pakistan, but for music as a whole. Asha Ji, Lata Ji, and their family who we have remained extremely close to from our time in India, have been in our prayers constantly through this time. Lots of love and prayers to the entire Mangeshkar family and Asha Bhosle Ji’s fans across the world.”
