Pakistan Railways Bans Vloggers, Restricts Filming Without Permission
Pakistan Railways has introduced new regulations banning unauthorized media coverage of its operations, infrastructure, and restricted areas, significantly tightening control over public content related to the department.
According to an official announcement, journalists, vloggers, bloggers, content creators, and social media influencers are now required to obtain prior written approval before filming, photographing, or publishing any material related to railway operations. The directive also applies to railway employees who assist such individuals.
Under the updated policy, all permissions must be obtained from the Railways Headquarters in Lahore. Authorities warned that any violation of these rules, including unauthorized access or publication, could result in legal or disciplinary action under applicable laws.
The move comes as part of broader administrative measures aimed at regulating information flow and maintaining operational security.
Separately, Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi recently inaugurated an upgraded tourist train service at Rawalpindi Railway Station. The revamped Safari Train includes air-conditioned coaches, improved seating, and enhanced facilities designed to attract families and tourists.
The tourism-focused train offers short stopovers and recreational opportunities at scenic locations, including Attock Khurd, allowing passengers to enjoy extended stays and dining experiences.
Officials say the initiative is part of wider reforms to modernize railway infrastructure, improve service quality, and promote domestic tourism. Authorities have also reported a steady rise in passenger numbers, reflecting increased public trust in rail services.
In addition, the minister highlighted that Pakistan Railways has recently achieved record-breaking daily revenue, reaching nearly Rs300 million over the past two weeks. This growth is attributed to ongoing reforms, improved operations, and the digitalization of railway systems nationwide.
