Reem Shaikh Talks Love, Faith, and the Role of Religion in Marriage
Indian television actress Reem Shaikh recently shared her thoughts on love faith and compatibility on relationship and marriage during a podcast conversation has gained attention.
Recently on Shardul Pandit’s podcast, the actress asked about to share her thought om marriage and love, whether falling in love with someone from a different religion would complicate things. Reem responded with clarity, that she respects all religion but “I am a very religious person, something people may not know, but I offer Namaz five times a day. Because of that, I don’t think I would be able to marry someone from a different faith.”
Further, she shared the reason, why would not choose an interfaith relationship. The actress said “I offer namaz five times a day. During Ramadan, I’ve recently started fasting too. Whenever something goes wrong in my life, the first person I turn to is God. I sit down on my janamaz and start praying. So, for me, it would be difficult. I don’t think I’d be able to do it because my faith is a very important part of my life (sic).”
This is the reason of her strong belief, she feels she couldn’t do anything that would go against her faith.
Reem shared, while also admitting that her opinions might call different thoughts, “whenever things go wrong in my life, the first thing I do is turn to God. I wouldn’t be able to spend my life with someone who doesn’t share my faith.”
Reem Shaikh family background is culturally diverse, her dad is Muslim and mother is Hindu, while her upbringing with both religions where both puja and namaz were part of daily life. This mixture of religion in her home made her to shaped her personal journey.
Reem started her career as a child actor and became well-known for her role in Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat.
