Karachi Rangers recover large quantity of illegal arms

Security forces in Karachi have recovered a significant cache of illegal weapons during an operation conducted in the Safoora Chowrangi area, according to a Rangers spokesperson.

The raid led to the arrest of an individual identified as Zohaib, son of Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar Jutt, from the Decent Garden locality.

“Five M-IV rifles and 30 bore, 12 bore and 222 bore weapons have been recovered from possession of the accused,” the Rangers spokesperson said. In addition, “an airgun, mobile phones, a gold chain and cash also taken in custody,” were recovered during the operation.

Officials further stated that parts of defective weapons, 70 rounds of ammunition, and 132 magazines were also seized from the suspect.

The operation also uncovered a large number of illegal documents, including 13 fake arms licenses, arms punching equipment, stamps of a private security company, as well as “nine books of fake authority letter and three arms licenses of Balochistan.”

Authorities believe the recovered weapons were intended for use in terrorist activities and other illegal operations.

The arrested suspect has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
