South Waziristan Suicide Bombing: 14 Civilians, Including Children, Injured in Azam Warsak Market Blast
A wave of attacks targeting civilians continues in Pakistan’s tribal regions, as a powerful explosion struck a busy market in the Azam Warsak area of South Waziristan on Monday evening.
According to initial reports, militants detonated a vehicle loaded with explosives in a crowded marketplace, triggering panic and chaos among local residents. The blast resulted in multiple civilian injuries, including women and children.
The administration of District Headquarters Hospital Wana confirmed that at least 14 civilians were injured in the suicide bombing. Among the घायल are four children, including an 8-year-old girl, underscoring the severity of the attack on innocent lives.
Hospital officials stated that all injured individuals were immediately shifted to District Headquarters Hospital Wana, where they are currently receiving medical treatment. Authorities further confirmed that all victims belong to the Azam Warsak locality.

This incident is part of a broader pattern of violence in the region. Earlier, an attack in the Noor area resulted in the deaths of three civilians and injuries to 11 others, including two children who had memorized the Quran. In another major incident at Bannu Cantonment, 22 civilians were killed. Similar attacks have also been reported in Tank, Bara, and other tribal districts, where civilian populations have repeatedly been targeted.
Security experts believe that such attacks are aimed at spreading fear and instability among the public. According to analysts, “the militants have adopted their traditional cowardly approach by targeting unarmed civilians to spread fear and terror.”
They further explained that these groups lack the capability to confront security forces directly and instead attack innocent civilians to conceal their weakness and maintain psychological pressure.
Authorities have not yet released further details regarding those responsible for the attack, while investigations into the incident remain ongoing.
