Yasir Hussain Blames India for Decline in Pakistani Drama Quality
Yasir Hussain, a well-known personality of Pakistan’s showbiz industry, he works as a host, director and actor to entertain people by his skills. Recently, his statement about changing standards of the Pakistani drama industry created heated discussion on social media. he said that creating content keeping the Indian market in mind has affected the original identity of Pakistani dramas.
The actor recently appeared on ARY News’ talk show Har Lamha Purjosh, hosted by Waseem Badami, where he opened up about what he believes is the decline of Pakistani dramas. He believe that Pakistani dramas had a unique identity at the global level due to their strong story, culture and quality, but when their popularity increased in India, many producers started producing content according to the preferences of Indian viewers.
Speaking candidly, Yasir said: ‘Pakistani and Indian dramas have one key difference, and that is the kind of viewers they have, which creates a major distinction. Most Indian viewers watch cringe content, while Pakistani viewers are quite mature. The quality of Pakistani dramas was once very good, but when our dramas started reaching India, our standards declined.’
He further added, ‘now dramas have changed because our makers began catering to the Indian market. Although Indians started watching our dramas because of their class and quality, instead of bringing them up to our standards, we declined and started making cringe dramas for them.’
According to Yasir, Pakistani dramas like by Indian viewers because of their high quality and their original content creations. So, Pakistani industry has adapted itself to relatively low-quality trends, but unfortunately, instead of keeping its standards high.
Yasir Hussain statement has sparked the debate on social media around content quality, audience preferences, and cross-border influence in entertainment, where some people agreed with his opinion while many users called it an exaggeration.
