Youm-e-Takbeer Marks Historic Turning Point: PM Shehbaz Sharif

The Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif specified that in the history of Pakistan Youm-e-Takbeer is a milestone on the 28 May 1998, when Pakistan showed unity and courage, became a nuclear power, and helped restore balance in South Asia.

The PM said that Pakistan responded to India’s nuclear tests with its own successful explosions on May 28, 1998, determinedly stating that its defence and power would always be protected. He more stated that, the event proves that Pakistan’s defence constructed on the vision of Allama Iqbal and the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, remains to be sturdy and well-protected.

Shehbaz Sharif uttered appreciation to all key figures in the nuclear programme, such as Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Nawaz Sharif, leading scientists, engineers, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Dr. Samar Mubarakmand, and the military, saying their hard work made the country’s defence tougher and more unfailing.

He specified that despite forceful compression and threats, Pakistan selected a secure and wise progression to defend its national interests. Youm-e-Takbeer embodies pride, sacrifice, and unity of the nation, he said.

He more added and highlighted about current strains with India, seeing that Pakistan replied sturdily to hostility and stood united in defence of its sovereignty. He applauded the military for their competence and enthusiasm.

The prime minister emphasized that Pakistan is committed to peace but fully capable of defending itself, and called on the nation to remain united and continue striving for progress and prosperity.
