Two Terrorists Killed in Armed Clash With Iranian Border Guards

Two members of an anti-Iran terrorist group have been killed during an armed confrontation with Iranian border guards in the country’s northwestern province of West Azarbaijan, a senior border commander says.

The commander of Iran’s Border Guard Police, Brigadier General Ali Akbar Javidan, said on Saturday that several terrorists who attempted to attack a border guard unit in Chaldoran County on Thursday night were thwarted by the “vigilance and operational readiness” of Iranian border forces.

According to Javidan, border guards identified the terrorists before they entered Iranian territory, relying on intelligence monitoring and field surveillance.

He said the forces responded with heavy fire, preventing the group from carrying out its planned attack.
