Petrol Subsidy Expanded: Motorcyclists, Farmers and Transport Workers to Get Rs 4,000

05 June, 2026 18:35

The federal government has decided to provide more financial assistance to deserving people in June 2026 under the petrol subsidy scheme to reduce the impact of rising fuel prices.

Key Decision Taken in High-Level Meeting Chaired by Ishaq Dar

According to sources, an important meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reviewed the petrol subsidy program in detail. It was confirmed during the meeting that four installments of the subsidy have been “successfully delivered to the deserving people during the last two months.”

The government has now approved the release of the fifth and sixth installments of the scheme, under which a total of Rs 4,000 will be provided to eligible motorcyclists, people associated with public transport, vehicle owners, and farmers.

Transparency and Monitoring System Reviewed With Provinces

The meeting also reviewed the transparency, monitoring, and communication system of the subsidy program with the provincial governments in detail. Officials assured that “the assistance amount will be delivered to the deserving people in a timely and transparent manner.”

On this occasion, Ishaq Dar directed the relevant institutions to make the process of distributing relief funds under the petrol subsidy scheme “more effective so that maximum deserving people can benefit from this facility.”

Senior Officials and Provincial Chief Secretaries in Attendance

The meeting was attended by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, Secretary Petroleum, Chief Secretaries of the four provinces, and other senior officials — reflecting the federal government’s commitment to coordinating relief delivery at the provincial level.

Government officials stated that “keeping in mind the increase in public hardship due to rising fuel prices, this program is being continued so that relief can be provided to the low-income group.”
