Petrol price reduced by Rs4 per liter, diesel steady

06 June, 2026 09:10

The federal government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre, providing some relief to consumers across Pakistan.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division, the new petrol price has been set at Rs377.78 per litre, down from Rs381.78 per litre. The revised rates came into effect from midnight and are being implemented nationwide.

The government also announced that the price of high-speed diesel will remain unchanged at Rs380.78 per litre.

The new fuel prices will stay in place until the next official review.

Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan have seen frequent changes in recent weeks due to fluctuations in global oil markets. International energy prices have been affected by ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, as well as concerns over the Strait of Hormuz, an important route for global oil shipments.

The latest cut in petrol prices is expected to ease some of the financial pressure on people who have been dealing with higher transportation and daily living costs.
